Unit 1: TEACHING YOUNG LEARNERS

  • The how children acquire first language, how they can acquire English like the second language.
  • Exercise about Easter 
  • Using English for start lessons, to organizing and to ending.
  • Teach young learners and very young learners, the differences that appear.
  • Topic talk: Introducing yourself, how to make a short personal presentation.

Unit 2: LISTEN AND DO

  • Learn English listening instructions. Give instructions in English, like sit down or stand up  listening and identifying activities.
  • Sounds /s/ /k/ and /f/.
  • Be active and enjoy doing things in English.
  • TPR ( Total Physical Response) : Simon says, miming.   
  • Recalling routine.
  • TOPIC TALKS: Sports, hobbies and clothes. 
 
Unit 3: LISTEN AND MAKE
  • How children learn listening English, using “Listen and make activities”.

  • LANGUAGE FOCUS: Useful phrases, asking who wants a turn.
  • Make an Eater card.
  • TOPIC TALK: The circus, festival and celebrations.

UNIT 4: SPEAKING WITH SUPPORT
  • Using classroom phrases.
  • Introducing new vocabulary using pictures, gestures...
  • Singing songs to practise pronunciation, stress and intonation.
  • TOPIC TALK: Spiders, beetles, small creatures and animals.
UNIT 5:
  • How you can help children to speak more fluently in English.
  • Speaking games: Pass the ball.
  • LANGUAGE FOCUS: Asking children to guess or remember.
  • TOPIC TALK: Families and rooms.

UNIT 9:
  • Use activities from the units 2-7 and adapted for use with stories.
  • Things to do after retelling a story; adapting a story, a “make and do” activity based on the story, making up a story, story structure, using stories for project work, reading with feeling.

UNIT 10:

  • Planning your lessons; before the course, general lesson preparation, specific language planning for a lesson.
